FAQs

Our FAQ page is designed to provide you with answers to some of the most commonly asked questions about our dog training services. If you cannot find the information you need or have additional questions, we encourage you to contact us directly. Our team is always happy to assist you and provide the guidance and support necessary to help you and your dog achieve success in training.

  • What is a board-and-train program?
Board-and-train is a comprehensive training program where your dog stays with one of our experienced trainers for an extended period of time to receive personalized training. During their stay, our trainers work one-on-one with your dog to teach obedience, house manners and proper socialization. After the training goals are met, the dog returns home with the skills and behaviors necessary for a happy and healthy life with you.
  • Can I visit my dog while they are in a board-and-train program?
The structure of the board-and-train program is important. Therefore, we do not allow owners to visit during the program. Your trainer will provide you plenty of photo and video updates of your dog's progress and adventures.
  • Do you offer training for aggressive or anxious dogs?
Training for aggressive or anxious dogs (also known as behavior modification training) is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. This program can be explored during a free consutation.
  • How long does training take?
Each program has its own estimated time frame. We say "estimated" because training is tailored to your pet. Puppy school is estimated to be 7 - 10 days long. Basic obedience is estimated to be 2 - 3 weeks long. Advanced training is estimated to be 3 - 5 weeks long. If your dog needs additional training time to meet the training goals, we will extend their training at no cost to the owner.
  • Will you teach me what you taught my dog?
Of course! When we arrange for your dog to come home, we will set up a 2-hour training session just for you. During this session, we will teach you all that you need to know to confidently and consistently keep up with the training. If you have any questions after the session has passed, you can always reach out to the trainer you worked with.
  • Do you use e-collars?
If you are in a program that offers off-leash training (advanced training program), yes, we will utilize an e-collar. We will not use an e-collar unless a proper foundation has been established and your dog demonstrates an understanding of what is being asked.
  • What is a lifetime guarantee?
For our board & train programs, we offer a lifetime guarantee. This means you can continue to contact your trainer for assistance in reinforcing the concepts covered during your training.
  • What makes Good Woofer K9 different from other dog trainers?
Good Woofer K9 Dog Training stands out from other programs because of our balanced approach to training, customized to the individual needs of each dog. Our training methodology is designed to cultivate skills, manners, and confidence in your dog, leading to a deeper connection and stronger bond between you and your dog.
  • Do you have any breed or age restrictions?
We do not have any breed restrictions. However, we do require that all dogs are at least 6 months of age, in good health and up-to-date on their vaccines.
  • What is your training technique?
We adopt "balanced" approaches that are customized to suit the specific requirements of each dog. We understand that not all training methods or tools are suitable for every dog, given their different temperaments and energy levels. Therefore, we adapt our programs to utilize the most effective tools that cater to the needs of your dog. Our training approach starts with positive reinforcement, and we incorporate fair corrections when necessary.
  • What does dog training cost?
Board-and-train programs range from $500 to $4,000. Pricing is dependent upon program type and the training goals for your dog. Request a free consultation to get more information on pricing for the program that best suits your dog.
  • Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! We proudly offer a military and first responder discount. Additionally, we offer a discount for owners with multiple dogs. To inquire about pricing and discounts, contact us!
